The meek
Sermon on the Mount
Father, give me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that I may know you better.
Ephesians 1:17
Spirit of truth, guide me into all the truth.
John 16:13
You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.
Psalm 63:1
5Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
- Jesus blesses the meek. Where are you pushing to get your own way instead of yielding to God?
- He promises the meek “will inherit the earth.” What are you fighting to secure for yourself that you could trust him to give?
- When you are corrected or overlooked, what rises up in you? What does that show about your heart?
His word
Jesus, you said, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.”
Receive
I lay down my need to win and to grasp. I receive what you give, in your time.
Thanks
Thank you that the earth is yours to give. Thank you that you bless the meek. Amen.
