The pure in heart
Sermon on the Mount
Lord, you said, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” I seek you now.
Jeremiah 29:13
Holy Spirit, open my eyes, that I may see wonderful things in your word.
Psalm 119:18
Father, give me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that I may know you better.
Ephesians 1:17
8Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
- Jesus blesses “the pure in heart.” What are you letting into your heart that clouds your sight of God?
- Is there a divided place in you: loving God while holding on to something he has asked you to let go?
- He promises the pure in heart “will see God.” Do you long to see him more than you long for the thing you keep returning to?
His word
Jesus, you said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”
Receive
I cannot make my heart clean myself. At your word, I receive your cleansing.
Thanks
Thank you that the pure in heart will see you. Thank you that you are making me pure. Amen.
