The narrow gate
Sermon on the Mount
Holy Spirit, open my eyes, that I may see wonderful things in your word.
Psalm 119:18
Father, give me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that I may know you better.
Ephesians 1:17
Spirit of truth, guide me into all the truth.
John 16:13
13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
- Jesus says, “Enter through the narrow gate.” Where are you choosing the broad road because it is easier?
- “Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.” Where are you following the crowd rather than Christ?
- The road that leads to life is narrow. What is he asking you to leave behind that will not fit through the gate?
His word
Jesus, you said, “Small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life.”
Receive
I choose your narrow way. Keep me on the road that leads to life.
Thanks
Thank you that you lead me to life. Amen.
