What does Nehemiah 12:6 mean?

Nehemiah 12:6 names Shemaiah, Joiarib, and Jedaiah as part of a list of priests who came to Jerusalem with Zerubbabel and Jeshua. The names preserve a record of people associated with worship after the return from exile.
