What does Psalms 26:3 mean?

Psalms 26:3 gives the speaker’s reason for asking God to examine him. He says that God’s lovingkindness stays in his view and that he has lived according to God’s truth. The verse joins his attention to God’s character with his account of his own conduct.

The speaker addresses God directly as “thy.” “Before mine eyes” pictures something kept in sight, while “walked” describes a way of living. After asking God to test him in verse 2, the speaker presents these as grounds for that request.

The Hebrew behind Psalms 26:3
