What does Psalms 95:10 mean?

Psalms 95:10 describes God’s grief with the wilderness generation of Israel. For forty years, the people went astray inwardly and failed to recognize his ways. The verse presents their wandering as more than a matter of location: their hearts were also going the wrong way.

God speaks directly in the verse, recalling the generation mentioned in the warning just before it. The “heart” points to the inner life, including thought and intention. “My ways” refers to how God acts and what he expects of his people.
