What does Romans 1:15 mean?

Romans 1:15 shows Paul’s eagerness to bring the good news about Jesus to people in Rome. His words express a personal willingness to do what lies within his power to reach them.

The phrase “as much as in me is” speaks of Paul’s own readiness, not a promise that his journey will happen immediately. After describing his obligation to different peoples in verse 14, Paul includes the people in Rome among those he wants to address.
