What does Titus 2:6 mean?

Titus 2:6 tells Titus to urge young men to exercise sound judgment and self-control. The KJV’s phrase “sober minded” points to a thoughtful, restrained way of thinking and acting, rather than merely avoiding drunkenness.

The word “likewise” carries the instructions forward from the earlier groups in the passage. Titus is to address young men too, with a direct appeal suited to them.
