What does 1 Kings 15:22 mean?

1 Kings 15:22 describes King Asa turning a rival’s abandoned building project to his own advantage. He summoned people throughout Judah to remove the materials from Ramah and use them to strengthen two other towns.

The order was sweeping: “none was exempted.” After Baasha stopped building Ramah in verse 21, Asa used its stones and timber at Geba of Benjamin and Mizpah. The verse pictures an unfinished barrier being dismantled and its materials put to a different use.
