The Hebrew behind 2 Chronicles 24:17

• “Obeisance” comes from שָׁחָה (shāchāh), which means to bow down or pay deep respect. Here, it suggests the princes were deliberately flattering or honoring the king, possibly to sway him.
• “Hearkened” is from שָׁמַע (shāma‘), meaning to listen or obey. In this context, it means King Joash accepted or followed the advice or requests of the princes, showing he was open to their influence.
