What does Daniel 8:19 mean?

Daniel 8:19 says that Gabriel will explain to Daniel what will happen toward the close of a period of indignation, or anger. Gabriel connects that ending with a time that has been appointed, giving Daniel a way to understand the disturbing vision he has seen.

Gabriel speaks to Daniel, who has fallen to the ground after being overcome by the vision. The phrase “last end of the indignation” points toward the closing part of that troubled period. Gabriel’s words prepare Daniel for an explanation of the vision’s symbols.
