The Hebrew behind Numbers 33:39

• הֹר (Hor, transliterated "Hor") refers to the specific mountain where Aaron died. Naming the location ties this event to a real place, which was significant for the Israelites’ memory and journey.
• מֵאָה (me’ah, "hundred"), עֶשְׂרִים (esrim, "twenty"), and שָׁלוֹשׁ (shalosh, "three") are the Hebrew words for the numbers in Aaron’s age. The precise recording of "a hundred and twenty and three" years emphasizes the importance of Aaron’s life span and his long service as high priest.

Why Numbers 33:39 matters
