1 Kings 9:24 (KJV)

What does 1 Kings 9:24 mean?

1 Kings 9:24 describes how Pharaoh’s daughter, who was married to King Solomon, moved from the city of David to a special house Solomon had built for her, and after this move, Solomon built the Millo. This verse marks a transition in Solomon’s building projects and shows the importance of Pharaoh’s daughter’s place in Jerusalem.

The verse is part of a historical account about King Solomon’s reign. It highlights a moment when Solomon’s Egyptian wife is given her own residence, separate from the city of David, likely for religious or cultural reasons. The mention of the Millo refers to a significant construction in Jerusalem, possibly a fortification or supporting structure, showing Solomon’s ongoing work to strengthen and expand the city.
