What does Matthew 24:13 mean?

Matthew 24:13 says that the person who continues through the trouble Jesus is describing, all the way to its end, will be saved. Jesus joins endurance and being saved in a single promise to his followers.

Jesus is speaking to his disciples after they ask about the future. Following his warning that many people’s love will grow cold, he turns to the person who remains steadfast through the hardship.
